The setting was Milton Keynes. Here we installed a bespoke cut BOEN Sport cradle & batten flooring over a 200sq.m school sports hall.
From the outset, the client had specified the need for a durable and sustainable wooden floor. We immediately established a robust project brief, then identified and sourced the best materials for the job. This gave complete peace of mind to all stakeholders involved, at which point we were given the go-ahead.
We started the job by laying plastic membrane taping joints and followed by installing 22inch-thick sheets of Kingspan insulation. After applying the finishing touches to the essential groundwork, the fun could begin. The next step involved cutting thousands of holes in the insulation in which the cradles would sit – and then positioning the battens in place. The process was a complex task with little margin for error, but after hours of careful application, the result was exemplary. After the line markers had paid a visit to lay down three fully-sized badminton courts, we returned to the school to apply a final coat of sports lacquer.
From thoughtful planning and expert application, this wooden sports hall new floor project was completed well within the project timescale and entirely ready for the start of the new school term.
